Have you got the UK’s oldest Yanmar mini excavator?

Our friends at A & Y Equipment Ltd are on the search for the UK’s oldest Yanmar mini excavator to put on show at Plantworx in June.

There are a number of contenders claiming the title of being the first to produce a mini excavator, but one of those at the forefront of mini excavator design has to be Yanmar. The original Japanese manufacturer actually introduced its first machine as far back as 1969, but it was 40 years ago in 1975 that Yanmar launched the legendary YB1200 model, the first mini excavator to feature full 360 degree rotation, a boom off-set function and dozer blade. The YB1200 is a far cry from today’s modern Yanmar derivatives, like the SV26 which is the modern day descendant of the YB1200 and is proving to be extremely popular with the Ammann Yanmar faithful.  You will be able to see the SV26 at Plantworx too, alongside other new models like the SV16 and SV18. To celebrate this 40 year milestone A & Y Equipment Ltd are searching for the UK’s oldest working Yanmar mini excavator. A YB1200 model would be the icing on the cake, but any old model will do no matter what it looks like cosmetically as long as it’s a runner! Can you help? If you can why not contact the A & Y Equipment team at sales@aandygroup.com
