High speed lumberjack

Here’s something different for a Friday on the Digger Man Blog, we rarely feature forestry equipment but this video caught my eye last weekend and I figured some of you may be interested.

This Canadian manufactured Tigercat LX830D heavy duty timber feller buncher certainly makes for hypnotic viewing as it makes its way through a forest devouring trees at a rate that would have any Greenpeace campaigner having a meltdown. Specially designed to work on steep terrain this machine which is fitted with a Tigercat FPT C87 Tier 4 Final engine capable of putting out 245kw (330hp) features Tigercat’s patented levelling system which provides exceptional stability on steep forest slopes.
