How HD Hyundai Build Excavators with Aaron Witt
I have visited a large number of excavator manufacturing facilities around the world during my time writing the Digger Man Blog and as a correspondent for Earthmovers Magazine, but most that I have visited are extremely touchy about taking photos let alone video, so it was great to see this latest video from our friend and American construction machinery media superstar Aaron Witt.
The globetrotting man behind the Buildwitt media brand, travelled this time to Ulsan in South Korea, to visit HD Hyundai Construction Equipment’s brand new $150 million smart factory where robots, autonomous vehicles, and advanced inspection systems work together to build excavators ranging from 14 to 120 tonnes.

Aaron and his professional film crew were given exclusive permission to film the whole process, from raw sheets of steel coming in at the start of the process, to a fully finished hydraulic excavator at the end of the line.
For anyone that’s never been fortunate enough to visit one of these plants, this is a fascinating insight into the whole process, presented in true Buildwitt style.
Aaron, here at the Digger Man Blog, we really appreciate your work in the industry, so let’s grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy watching an excavator come to life before our eyes!
