How to use Cat Grade with Assist
The Age of Smart Iron, as Caterpillar likes to call it is definitely here, in the same way as other technologies like smart phones and the like have moved on, so too has earthmoving equipment and the way we use it.
Whether us “old school” operators like it or not advanced machine control systems are the way things are going. Manufacturers are all gearing up to make machine operating easier using state of the art technology to assist the not so skilled generation and to even enhance those who have honed their skills over the years in the traditional way. It’s something I am going to be taking a closer look at in more detail in the not too distant future. Having had a very brief play on the system in Malaga earlier this year, it will be interesting to spend more time on both the Caterpillar and Komatsu versions over the coming months.
