Ingenious Swedes make use of old kit

Here is another photo I came across over the weekend featuring Scandinavian ingenuity at work.

I have been unable to find out much about this photo and the machinery involved, but what I do know is that the machine is a New Holland E135B and is owned by Jesper Legfelt’s father. Jesper lives in Fole, Gotlands Lan, in Sweden and I believe his father is a contractor there. The machine is fitted with the standard Scandinavian specification of tiltrotator, this time from Indexator, and a GPS system on the rear. The thing that really caught my eye about this photo, is the use of an old Volvo 861 articulated hauler body which has been adapted for use as a dump trailer behind the excavator, a clever adaptation of what may have been a scrapped machine. One would imagine that there has been some serious strengthening work done to the blade to be able to pull that kind of weight especially when loaded. Photo courtesy of Jesper Legfelt. This is yet another example of the Swedish approach to excavation work, which involves less men, with work often being completed by one man, his machine and his additional tools.
