Intelligent Machine Control coming to a site near you

It’s a topic which is causing a bit of a stir but there can be no denying machine control systems are the way the industry is heading as technology takes over in the cab.

For many “old school” operators, myself included the thought of letting technology take control of what I am wanting to do with a machine is a daunting prospect and I suppose like many others I would see it as an insult to the skills learnt during a lifetime in plant. But like it or not these systems are the way ahead in the future, as company’s find it harder and harder to find operators with the skills required to achieve the desired results. One company leading the way with this technology is Komatsu who demonstrated the systems at Bauma earlier this year.
