It’s been a blue, blue Christmas for Ollie

Blue was the colour for Swedish inspired owner/operator Ollie Kitchin this Christmas with the arrival of his latest toy to add to his ever expanding attachment arsenal.

As part of his ongoing work on the motorway Ollie has been involved in some tree and bush clearing works to improve visibility of the new motorway signs. This work was initially scheduled for just two nights to “see how it goes”, but management were so impressed with the efficiency and safety of the operation using Ollie’s hold and cut tree shear that they kept him on the job for a whole month. This approach to the job minimised the need to send “climbers” up the trees at night and resulted in the team knocking 3 weeks off the time allocated to do the job!

With this kind of work in mind Ollie had been researching Intermacato’s range of Tigergrip timber grapples and had spoken to other attachment users like Eddie Warrener and Ben Miller about them. Both of those owner operators use them and had nothing but praise for the units, which was music to Ollie’s ears!

Much to his surprise when the TG 42 SRS Log Grab unit turned up from Intermacato, Ollie was delighted to see that they had colour coded it in Swedish blue paintwork to match his stunning new machine, a real nice touch from the Swedish based attachment specialists. Talking about the new unit Ollie said, “I’m really pleased with this, I just can't believe how compact it is but with such a big opening for grabbing material! It’s very well built and I don't think anyone else can come close to build quality. I have been dealing with Adam Hindle, who was extremely helpful with the process from start to finish”.

Ollie continued, “The unit had first been dropped off up with John Craig who performed his bit of magic on it with the Engcon EC-Oil, so now a 15 second change over from SMP tree shears to the new grapple is now standard"

"The lads I have been working with are from Maple tree services, Liam, the owner had a great team with him who were really professional and a pleasure to work with”.

Judging by Ollie's enthusiastic messages over the past few days, I think its safe to say that he is rather pleased with his Blue Christmas present!
