K-Tec scrapers tackle big job in Texas

The K-Tec scraper design might look a bit strange but they appear to be a good alternative to the conventional motor scraper.

In this promotional film from K-Tec we see the company’s 1263 and 1233 scraper models, which are capable of carrying 54 cubic metres and are seen here working connected to ADT drive units including the Cat 740B and Volvo A40F's, on a job in Dumas, Texas that involved the shifting of 850,000 cubic metres of earth in just 1.5 months. It’s pretty impressive going, but you have to ask the question, what is the visibility back to the scraper box like for the operator when he is sat so far forwards?
