Mechanised lumberjack
With the long cold winter nights looming in fast, for anyone running a log burner the attention is turning to preparing the fuel supply, which often entails a bit of sweat and toil DIY lumberjack activity with the axe, that is unless you have access to an Igland wood processor!
Igland is a Norwegian manufacturer of various log-splitters for the forestry industry and even those with small holdings. Among the products they make is the Igland WP 3000 which is designed to be mounted on an excavator or a tractor and can cut and spit logs in one fully automated process.
Check out this video with the WP 3000 mounted on an 8 tonne Kobelco machine, I think you will agree its an impressive piece of kit.
