More Drag Fishing for Cat D10N

Back in 2017, our friend Lasse Holst of the Danish Construction Channel paid a visit to the Thorup Beach in Denmark to see the big dozer at work in this very unusual application.

More Drag Fishing for Cat D10N

Since Lasse’s last visit, the Cat D10N had undertaken a full restoration and was looking in a far better condition than the last time he’d seen her. We covered this on the blog at the time, but Lasse has launched some previously unseen footage of the machine which is fitted with a hydraulic winch system.

The tractor pulls the boats out of the sea and up the beach as they return fully loaded with their catch. They are then unloaded and stored until they head out again. One thing I’m curious about, is how do they perform the operation in reverse?

I’m sure many of us have been to the beaches around our glorious coastline in the UK and seen various rusty old small tractors from the likes of Track Marshall, International and Cat, but to see something of this size and power performing this task is very rare.

You would have to say it’s not everyday that you see 520hp (387.8kw) tracked type tractor doing this kind of work on a beach!

The Digger Man Blog would like to thank Lasse and his Danish Construction Channel for sharing this new footage with us.
