More Turkish delight from Hidromek at Bauma

Well known for their design flair and modern approach to machinery development, Turkish manufacturer Hidromek displayed a number of its latest machines in Munich.

More Turkish delight from Hidromek at Bauma
Following on from the company’s purchase of the Mitsubishi motor grader business Hidromek displayed its latest HMK 600 MG model. Tipping the scales at 18 tonnes depending on specification, the machine is powered by a Stage 3A/Tier 3 Mercedes engine and is capable of a power output of 187kw (214hp). The machine is equipped with a 4.3m blade and features eight forward and reverse electronically controlled gears via an automatic transmission system. DSC_0296 A new hexagonal cab designed exclusively by Hidromek provides wide angle visibility. The machine is fitted with joysticks integrated within the seat for maximum operator comfort and ease of use, other creature comforts for the operator include full climate control air conditioning radio and USB port for playing of music from phones and other mobile devices. The company expect to have this machine for sale in the second half of 2016. DSC_0293 The company also presented the first of its “new look” excavators the 30 tonne class HMK 300 LC-5. The machine is fitted with a Tier 4 Final compliant engine rated at 151kw (202hp) and uses Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) to achieve emissions reductions. DSC_0290 The machine is stylish as we have come to expect from Hidromek over the years and although the rear structure is slightly higher than the old models its nowhere near as obtrusive as some other manufacturer’s models. Also of note is a new lighter grey colour of paintwork on the boom and dipper arm, a change from the dynamic black on the previous models in the range. DSC_0291 Also on display was the company’s wheeled loading shovel the HMK 640 WL which we first caught sight of at last year’s Intermat show in Paris. The HMK 640 WL is a 24 tonne class machine which features a 4 cubic metre bucket and rather interestingly features a 6 cylinder 324hp turbo diesel engine which is produced by Mercedes and adapted for industrial use by MTU, a company which is one of the group firms of Rolls Royce. DSC_0295 This machine was designed in house by Hidromek’s highly skilled design technicians, following consultation with operators and end users out in the field. DSC_0294 The HMK 640 WL was also sporting the light shade of grey paintwork and I expect this design to be rolled out on all the company’s new machines from now on. I think you will agree their machines do look stunning! The Digger Man Blog can also exclusively reveal that Yorkshire based Buntons Plant will be the first importer/supplier of Hidromek equipment in the UK and will be displaying a number of models including backhoe loaders and excavators at the Hillhead mining and quarrying show in June.
