New green iron for Truth Excavations

A few weeks ago we posted a blog featuring Hawaii based business Truth Excavation and their distinctive green liveried machines, now owner Kimo Clark has sent us some photos of his latest acquisition.

The bulk of Kimo’s kit comes from the Caterpillar stable, but this latest excavator to join the fleet is a Hitachi, which has been stunningly customised to match the company’s other machines and trucks. Talking to the Digger Man Blog about the new kid on the block Kimo said “The machine is a 2006 Zaxis 350-3 which has 5000 hours on the meter. I bought it from the big island here in Hawaii and got an excellent deal as the machine had been kept in very good condition. The main reason for the purchase of a 35 tonne class machine is to enable us to do bulk excavation work and in addition I am planning to buy a crusher attachment for it too”. Kimo continued, “Some of the properties we work on are as big as 15 acres with 10,000 square foot houses. We found our Caterpillar 320D was a bit too small and slightly underpowered for these bigger projects and we didn’t want to push the smaller machines over their limit, which was the major decision behind the purchase”. The machine has been supplied with a full set of buckets and a fully automatic hydraulic quick coupler. This size machine is likely to be the largest Truth Excavation will ever need for the work that they do. Anything larger simply would not fit through the gated communities that they work in! We thank Kimo for sharing these latest shots with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
