OK, who knows the story behind this O&K?

Our English man “Down Under” and regular contributor to the Digger Man Blog Michael Bullock has sent in this photo that he came across on Instagram recently and was wondering if any of our knowledgeable readers knew anything about it.

The photo depicts a large O&K RH-200 which was once owned by RJB being transported “side saddle” style on a multi wheeled low loader and has clearly come to a sticky situation. Bearing in mind an RH-200 weighs in the region of 512 tonnes it would take a bit of shifting when stuck in mud like it is in the photo. Is there anyone who reads the Digger Man Blog who can shed a bit of light on what was happening in the photo, for example where was this and where was the machine being moved to? It would be interesting to find out more about this incident. The photo above from the Digger Man Blog archives, could well be the same machine as featured in the first shot. O&K launched the RH-200 at the Bauma Trade Fair in Munich way back in 1989 when it was one of the “showstopper” exhibits on the company’s stand on German home soil. The machine featured a standard bucket capacity of 34 cubic yards. Well over 50 machines were sold worldwide with many still working today.
