Old school JCB JS goes fishing

This video clip has been doing the rounds on the internet for many years, but I don’t recall ever posting it here on the Digger Man Blog.

The machine looks to be one of the original JCB JS240LC hydraulic excavators from the early tie up with Sumitomo. It has been converted at some point for working on coastal defence work with a raised turret having been fitted. Information about what it is doing wading out into the Baltic Sea is scarce, but it would appear that the machine is plucking old World War 2 remnants out of the sea. Either way it’s an interesting little clip as this kind of set up is not often seen especially on a machine of that age.
