Pimp my Volvo excavator Swedish style

This video was recently posted on our Friends of the Digger Blog Facebook page, by our friend and fellow member of top Swedish plant & machinery forum Maskinisten.net, Alexander Lipkin, and features a machine model I test drove recently, Volvo’s EC220DLC.

Pimp my Volvo excavator Swedish style
This stunning looking example has all the whistles and bells that we expect to see on Swedish machines, especially owner operated ones. This machine features lots of chrome trim, additional work lighting, which is essential in Sweden during the long winter months, full GPS set up, tinted glass, and some sexy looking artwork on the counterweight. The machine is seen here in action loading away blasted rock as part of a highway improvement scheme. Interesting to see that he has taken off his Indexator tiltrotator system, and resorted to a conventional rigid bucket arrangement while he deals with the blasted rock. I think you will agree it’s a fine looking piece of kit!
I recently had a Volvo EC220DLC on demonstration here in Devon, and I must say I was very impressed with it. You can read all about my Volvo test drive in the next edition of Earthmovers Magazine out in the shops on 11th October. We thank Alexander for sharing his video with the Digger Man Blog.
