Rusty dozer down on the beach

It’s amazing what you can find down at the seaside, as our friend and Digger Man Blog reader Aneta Szakiel discovered recently during a trip to Suffolk.

Aneta works for long established and well-known bucket and attachment manufacturers Strickland Ltd in Pershore, Worcestershire. Being involved in the plant industry Aneta is always on the lookout for unusual and interesting items of kit regardless of age and condition. During a recent visit to the coastal town of Aldeburgh she spotted a rusting old dozer and kindly sent in some photos of it to share with the Digger Man Blog readers. I wasn’t 100% certain about the make and model of this machine, but was torn between a Bristol or a Track Marshall. The great thing about the Digger Man Blog is if you are not sure about a machine make or model, there will always be someone out there with the “knowledge” as such I put a quick shout out on the Facebook page as to the true identity of this machine. Within minutes the blog faithful had identified the ageing dozer as a Track Marshall TM55 model. Generally old dozers like this, of which there are many around the coastal towns in the UK, are used to pull fisherman’s boats out of the water during times of storage or maintenance. Looking at classic old machines like this, still capable of doing a job, makes you wonder how many of today's high tech machines will still be around doing this kind of work in the future. We thank Aneta for sharing these photos with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
