Takeuchi TB216 a Consistent Favourite

We first caught sight of Takeuchi’s 1.5-tonne mini excavator offering the TB216 during Bauma 2013, when it was displayed with a full cabin during the Munich machinery fest, the machine remains as popular today as it has ever been.

Takeuchi TB216 a Consistent Favourite

The Takeuchi TB216 replaced the previous TB016 model that was a legendary machine, and is much loved by utility contractors, groundworkers and landscape gardening contractors, especially the canopy version for working operatives who are often jumping on and off the machine to assist with manual work.

Over the years we have visited many end users of the TB216, and every time we hear the same comments from the owners of these machines, and indeed the operators, who let’s face it, are more often than not, the most important people, as they spend most of their days running these machines.

Four things are always mentioned, firstly the machines super smooth hydraulics, the power, their compact dimensions, and above all the incredible reliability. There is an old saying in the plant and machinery game, “Look after the machine, and the machine will look after you”, that is certainly the case with the Takeuchi TB216, as they appear to be bomb proof and will go on forever if looked after!

With an operating weight of 1865kg (cabin) 1770kg (canopy) the TB216 is powered by the well proven 3-cylinder Stage V emissions compliant Yanmar 3TNV70 diesel engine which offers a power output rating of 11.5kW (15hp).

Maximum reach at ground level is 4,035mm, while a maximum dig depth of 2,390mm can be achieved, even more if the blade is positioned at the rear, while a maximum dump height of 2,705mm can be achieved.

The TB216 features a retractable undercarriage, that when fully retracted only measures 980mm to allow access through gates or doorways, when expanded it measures 1300mm, to offer a stable working footprint.

The machines are designed for long lasting durability, including a top-mounted boom lift cylinder, which keeps it out of the way of any potential damage, and hydraulic lines routed inside the boom for maximum protection.

These machines along with all others in the Takeuchi range come with a 3-year/3,000-hour warranty as standard, so if you are in the market for a bit of red and grey, contact your local Takeuchi dealer today.
