The new Cat’s join the Whitnell pride

Never one to miss out on a photo opportunity, during last week’s visit to Essex, I also stopped off at Whitnell Plant’s yard to check out one of two recent additions to the fleet.

The new Cat 313F L GC is proving to be a big hit for Caterpillar in the UK at the moment, launched earlier this year at a press event in Malaga and making its UK debut at Plantworx, the new machine is appealing to those who wish to avoid the hassle of having to add diesel exhaust fluid (AdBlue). In part as a result of the social media coverage from the Digger Man Blog and Earthmovers Magazine Lionel placed an order for two of the new models and I think you will agree, they certainly look the business in the stunning Whitnell livery. These Japanese designed and manufactured machines have been produced to meet the demands of the UK plant hire sector and are proving to be a sure fire winners for UK dealers Finning. At the heart of this new machine is Cat’s C3.4B engine which meets EU Stage 3B emissions standards with a power rating of 70hp (52kw). But don’t be fooled by the perceived lower power output rating, these machines can certainly perform and are extremely smooth in operation, whilst also being extremely fuel efficient. The sister machine to this model has already gone out on site and is earning its keep already, with very positive reports coming back from the operator and the customer alike. More new Cat machines including 320E models are set to join the Whitnell fleet over the coming months as the company is expecting busy times with a large number of new jobs recently being awarded to them.
