Tracked dumpers, excavators and dozers

Today I am once more off on my travels for two days on the east side of the country with Earthmovers site visits planned  in Essex, this has reminded me of one of my last visits to this area to see NTDH’s Morooka dumpers in action. In this blog I will post a few more shots from the visit that didn’t make it into the magazine.

Primary excavator on this Environment Agency job was a Caterpillar 320E model which was on hire from Flannery Plant Hire who are partners with Land and Water in the NTDH tracked dumper venture. The machine was busy loading the new Morooka dumpers on the day of Earthmovers visit. These low ground pressure Morooka dumpers were absolutely perfect for the soft going encountered on this job site. In addition the ability to slew 360 degrees enabled them to travel and discharge their load with minimal damage to the ground with no need to turn and reverse at all. The deposited material was being levelled and compacted by one of Lionel Whitnell’s Caterpillar D6K LGP PAT blade equipped dozers, this machine was towing a “sheepsfoot” compactor on hire from CRH Plant Hire. If you have a job or a machine you would like to show me while I am in the area again, or anywhere in the UK in fact, why not give me a shout on our @DiggerManBlog Twitter account, I would be delighted to try and fit you in!
