Tractors and Diggers at the Moving Forward Event
Tractors and agricultural equipment are not often on the radar here on the Digger Man Blog, but with South West based local dealer Alan Snow Agricultural Engineers now selling Komatsu compact equipment, I figured it would be worth visiting their one-day event.
The Alan Snow Agricultural Engineers - Moving Forward event was held at Holsworthy Market so there was plenty of space available for test driving new tractors from the dealer’s portfolio of products which includes Fendt and Valtra, including a rather stunning pink model from the Finnish manufacturer, which one would imagine is a special order.

Naturally for me, I was drawn to the shiny new yellow diggers from Komatsu, which were on static display close to the entrance of the venue.
Models from the compact range which are manufactured in Komatsu’s Italian factory, the former FAI facility in Noventa Vicentina, included the PC16RHS, PC24MR, and the electric powered PC33E which appeared to be generating a lot of interest throughout the day.

Although not included in there Komatsu dealership offerings, there was also a 14-tonne class PC138US model available for viewing. Local Marubeni-Komatsu Sales Manager Mike Darch was also on hand to talk machines right across the full Komatsu range of construction products.
Mike said it’s an exciting time for Komatsu at the moment, with the recent launch of the long-awaited Dash-12 hydraulic excavators, and of course the return of a conventional 13-tonne conventional tailswing offering coming soon, and various other new products.

Out the back visitors had the chance to get “hands-on” with a new PC26MR model which featured in a just for fun, hook a duck competition, which was a lot harder than it looked.

Also, out the back was a course for the aforementioned tractor driving tests, which appeared to be very popular with the local farming community who quite clearly love a tractor!

Another product in the Snows portfolio is the Weidemann range of compact loaders, and telescopic handlers, which can be described as a ‘crossover’ product serving the agricultural and construction sectors. Two machines were showcased, the 5080T telescopic loader, and the compact T6025 telescopic handler pictured below.

The event ran from 10am right up until 8pm and apparently refreshments were available after 2.30pm, however I had left by then. The sun made an appearance for a change and it was a great way to spend a few hours, and potentially there maybe some customer focus features to come in the future for Earthmovers Magazine.
