Wacker Neuson offers a one stop shop

Last week I was kindly invited to spend a day with the Wacker Neuson dealer for Staffordshire, New Haden Plant Sales, where MD Ian Wood introduced me to a wide range of products from the German/Austrian manufacturer.

I will be reporting on this in wider detail in a future article for Earthmovers Magazine, but for this blog post, I will share a few photos I took during a visit to the Wacker Neuson UK headquarters in Stafford. I must say I have had very little to do with the Wacker Neuson range of equipment over the years and I was quite simply amazed at the wide range of machinery they actually make. They really could be described as a one stop shop with their diverse product line ranging from concrete equipment and small tools, right up to 14 tonne class excavators and 10 tonne forward tipping dumpers. There can be no denying the standard of quality engineering in these machines is exceptional although perhaps not a complete surprise considering the companies German roots. Wacker Neuson UK have big plans for the future, with a brand new HQ being built just across the road from the current base, which will include offices, warehouse and plans for a fully operational demonstration plot, where customers can see and get “hands on” with the latest products the company has to offer. The brand does have a loyal band of end users in the UK, but I believe many are unaware of the vast range of products the company has in its portfolio, which includes innovative design features such as the VDS (Vertical Digging System) on some of its mini excavators and fully heated luxury cabs on its dumpers, which in my opinion is a long overdue and welcome addition to dumpers in the UK. I think the firm could be something of a sleeping giant that is awakening from its slumber and with a host of new products like the EW100 10 tonne class wheeled excavator joining the range recently, I predict big things for Wacker Neuson in the UK in 2015. I am very keen to get some stick time on the EW100 and the 14 tonne class 14504 in the future for Earthmovers features, so watch this space.
