Wacker Neuson’s EZ26e Making Friends Quietly

While take up of electric construction machinery still seems relatively low compared to the rest of the market, many hire companies are now adding at least one electric machine to their fleets as they test the concept and their customers acceptance.

Wacker Neuson’s EZ26e Making Friends Quietly

One manufacturer who has been leading the way with electric powered construction machinery is Wacker Neuson who produce an ever-increasing product range of zero emissions kit.

Amongst those machines is the 2.5-tonne class EZ26e zero tailswing mini excavator, a very popular size machine especially in the UK plant hire sector in its internal combustion engine variant.

I have operated this model in the past at Wacker Neuson's UK facility in Staffordshire, and was impressed with the performance in every aspect, functioning no different to a conventional powered version, but almost in complete silence which is a very strange experience as an operator used to the sound of an engine coming under load.

Of course, the big question every time with these electric powered machines, is how long will you be able to operate it for on a full charge?

The official line on this machine is that with a choice of two battery sizes (30-kWh standard, or the 40-kWh premium), the EZ26e offers a long operating time that covers an entire working day, however long a working day is defined of course.

According to Wacker Neuson, the EZ26e can be charged quickly and easily via any standard household socket or via high-voltage current with an on-board charging capacity of up to 9.9 kW. This means that you are not dependent on special charging stations, but can charge the machine wherever electricity is available.

Discover more details about this machine in the promotional video from Wacker Neuson below.
