Waitings on flood watch

In our last batch of photos from Cumbrian based Waitings Drainage & Pipeline Contractors we take a look at some of their kit which was deployed to the Glenridding flood works over the Christmas period.

Waitings on flood watch
To-date, linked with the recent flooding, Waitings have worked at and in some cases are still based at, Pooley Bridge, Glenridding, Eamont Bridge and Carlisle Waste Water Treatment Works, with many staff even working on Christmas Day which was apparently a first for the company, but such was the teams dedication to this cause they were all happy to muck in! 12365981_1206823249332170_7493314342370809204_o The horrendous flooding at Glenridding made headlines around the world and saw a number of local contractors getting involved and “doing their bit” to help alleviate the problems caused by the persistent heavy deluge of rain. Waitings have been deployed to Glenridding on numerous occasions over the years including last year’s dramatic event which saw them respond with heavy kit within two and a half hours of receiving the call! Glenridding 2 Waitings are big JCB customers and deployed a number of its fleet to Glenridding including a zero tailswing model seen below working in the river. They also supplied some of their Wacker Neuson machines including the impressive 14 tonne class offering which features a dozer blade and offset boom. Glenridding 1 We thank Waitings for sharing these photos with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
