Yanmar & Steelwrist = perfect partners
If I’m honest I have not had much to do with Yanmar machines over the years, just a few odd spells on a couple of 5 and 8 tonners, but the latest models coming along seem to be gaining a lot of attention.
During my time at Bauma I visited the Yanmar stand to take a look at some of the new SV models, especially the new SV100-2 which has been getting a lot of praise on the numerous plant & machinery social media platforms recently and was displayed with the European favourite TAB boom and a Steelwrist tilt-rotator.
I was never a fan of the Vio80-1 model, as I recall the dipper fitted was always too short making the geometry with the boom challenging, which in turn made grading hard work as you were always chasing the dipper down when bringing it in. It does look like that situation has now been addressed especially on this SV100-2 model and it would be good to get some stick time on the new machines which are now sporting an all-black painted cab and do look very smart. It just looks right now and using well proven Japanese components its certain not to disappoint.
In the meantime, I came across this promo video featuring a Yanmar machine equipped with a Steelwrist which clearly demonstrates the flexibility that these machines and attachments can offer.
