Anglian Demolition purchase Hyundai HX85A amongst company expanstion

Anglian Demolition & Asbestos is expanding its waste handling operation following the acquisition of Staffordshire-based waste management, skip hire and recycling company LW Recycling. The company has also added a Hyundai HX85A compact excavator at its Cannock Wood Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), supplied by East of England Hyundai compact dealer Tobin Plant.

Based in Attleborough, Norfolk, Anglian Demolition & Asbestos was established in 2007 as a demolition and asbestos services company. The business has since expanded into waste management, asbestos surveys and removal, scaffolding, earthworks and remediation, and hazardous waste removal. Waste management now accounts for around 40% of the group’s business. Anglian operates a 10-acre recycling facility near Attleborough, handling a range of waste streams including metals. The acquisition of LW Recycling extends its operations into Lichfield, Rugeley, Burntwood and Cannock.

Hyundai HX85A joins MRF fleet

The 8.5-tonne Hyundai HX85A has been supplied with a Strickland quickhitch and Tobin sorting grab, allowing it to handle waste as it arrives at the facility. The machine is powered by a 49.9kW (66.9hp) Stage V engine driving a load-sensing hydraulic system with selectable working modes. The HX85A is available with either a monoboom or two-piece articulating boom, while a dozer blade provides additional stability during digging and lifting operations. Inside the cab, a 7in touchscreen monitor allows the operator to set auxiliary flow rates for up to six attachments, including the sorting grab.

“We’ve had a number of Hyundais in the past and we’ve known Simon Tobin for a long time,” said Lee Storer, Managing Director at Anglian. “We’ve taken a lot of machines from him over the years.” The company’s existing fleet includes a 12-tonne Hyundai crawler excavator and a 52-tonne high-reach demolition machine with a 30m working height. “Tobin Plant has worked with and supported Anglian for more than 10 years and we are delighted to have received this valued order,” said Simon Tobin. “We wish the company every success in the future.”

Anglian aims to recycle as much of the waste it handles as possible, with its operations now extending beyond its traditional East of England base. The company says it is also looking to expand further through acquisitions in strategic areas.

“We are at the forefront in East Anglia and we are looking at growth through acquisition in strategic areas,” said Storer.
