Bauma 2019 is a Record Breaker

Billed as the Biggest Bauma ever, the triennial event certainly reflected that in the statistics with the show organizers reporting that 620,000 visitors attended the show, the best ever result in the shows 65-year history. This was my 4th Bauma and I could sense from day one that it was going to be big one. For starters I had never seen the waiting halls so jam packed with visitors, on occasions it took me over half an hour to get in. Photo: Courtesy of Olli Paivio (Konepörssi)  Once in the show ground the visitors which came from over 200 countries were able to visit around 3,700 exhibitors from 63 different countries. There was also a sharp increase in visitors coming from overseas. In fact, more than 250,000 visitors came from countries outside Germany. The top 10 visitor countries after Germany were: Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland and Great Britain. Significant gains in the overseas group were produced by China, Australia and Japan. More than 5,500 visitors came from China alone. The number of exhibitors totalled about 3,700 from 63 countries – likewise a record Photo: Courtesy of Olli Paivio (Konepörssi)  During the 2019 edition which covered an area of 614,000 square metres, exhibitors unveiled a huge number of innovations and new products to the trade fair’s global visitors. Zeppelin/Caterpillar, for instance, introduced more than 20 world premieres. Business conducted at the exhibition was correspondingly good. Andreas Böhm, a member of the Board of Directors of Liebherr International AG, said: “We took orders from all parts of the world and made a whole lot of new contacts. Visitors massed at the trade fair’s hot spots, which included the impressive vehicle and machine displays set up by major exhibitors. In addition to its industrial focus, Bauma also offered a world of experience’s and adventure for visitors with a selfie tower and Wacker Neuson’s ferris wheel feature which was extremely popular. Jorge Cuartero, Managing Director of the Spanish manufacturer association Anmopyc, summed things up this way: for a full week, Bauma was “the place to be.”
The next Bauma will be held from April 4 to 10, 2022, at the Messe München Exhibition Centre.
