Cat Dozing in Devon with Coles

Having taken some photos of the new Volvo in action, I jumped aboard one of the tractors and travelled down to the tip area where operator Terry Jefferies was at the controls of the Caterpillar D6N and having previously stripped the topsoil, was now receiving the subsoil in the glorious surroundings of the Devon countryside. Terry had nothing but praise for his trusty Caterpillar D6N, describing it as one of the best dozers Caterpillar have ever made commenting on his machine Terry said “For me it’s either a Cat dozer or nothing, in my opinion they are simply the best on the dozer front anyway”. The Cat D6N with PAT (power angle tilt) blade is powered by Cat’s C6.6 ACERT engine offering a power output of 111.8kw (150hp) and weighing in at 17,997kg (39,593lb) in its LGP variant. The machine is a hugely popular mid-range dozer with can be utilised on a wide variety of applications. On the day of our visit Terry certainly seemed to be enjoying his job with the machine. We thank Coles Plant for inviting us along on the day.
