Classic Bröyt X2 Puts on a Show

The Norwegian built Bröyt X2, was first introduced in 1958 as an upgrade for the existing X1 model, which was the company’s first hydraulic excavator when it was introduced in 1956. Its understood that this old machine, was fitted with a Perkins engine. Photo: Digger Man Blog Web Archives. These machines were incredibly simple in their design, with no drive components within the undercarriage, the machines were simply towed around from job to job behind a truck or tractor. Once on site, the machines would just move around under their own power using the bucket and dipper arm to pull or push themselves about. This example has appeared at MaskinExpo before alongside other vintage machines and it’s a very tidy example of the model. It can’t be an easy machine to operate with that long boom and short dipper stick geometry but this fella seems to cope well with it.
