Domis Construction buys electric JCB handler

A leading North West construction firm has become one of the first to buy JCB’s brand new, electric 525-60E loadall telescopic handler. The 525-60E provides zero-emissions operation for working inside buildings, underground and in urban areas, capabilities which secured the order from Manchester-based Domis Construction.

Domis Construction Managing Director, Lee McCarren said, “In the type of high-rise, city centre buildings we typically develop there is significant work underground in basements and in car parks. Traditionally we would need to fit expensive carbon filters onto our machines in order to operate safely in those areas. Now we have a high performance, low emissions and ultra-quiet machine that is perfect for our inner-city operations.”

More than 43 years after the company pioneered the concept of telescopic handlers, JCB has taken the wraps off its brand new 525-60E model, a full electric version of the popular Loadall. Designed to deliver the same performance as the conventional diesel-powered machine, the 525-60E offers a zero-emissions load handling solution. A further benefit of electric operation is a significant reduction in noise levels, making the Loadall suitable for extended operation in sensitive urban job sites.

External dimensions are unchanged from its diesel counterpart and the 525-60E offers the same 3.7m outside turn radius. Maximum lift capacity is 2,500kg, with a 2,000kg maximum load at the full 6m lift height. The machine has been designed to deliver similar cycle times as the diesel telescopic, with no loss of performance, and was recently launched as part of a new range of electric JCBs.
