Doosan dilemma (Blog Post Re-Visited)
Sweden is well known for its challenging ground conditions, indeed in many areas the ground is exceptionally wet underfoot and I have seen countless images on the forums I frequent featuring machines in trouble up there. Sweden is also well known for its timber of course, so if you get into a bit of trouble with a machine, there is often a good supply of wood around to cut down and make a mat to aid in the extraction of the stuck machine. In this video we see a team preparing to remove this 14 tonne Doosan from a very wet hole. Incredibly the team behind the rescue use the smallest of mobile winches, and a tiltrotator equipped Takeuchi TB145 (known as Take-Job in Sweden) which is used to place the timbers.
As darkness descends for another long Swedish night, the team finally get the machine out and back onto a more firmer footing. All conducted in a very controlled and calm way, with no shouting or finger pointing. A real joy to see!
