Dozer becomes un-invited dinner guest

Imagine the scene, you are sat around the dinner table and you suddenly hear the roar of a large diesel engine, the clatter of caterpillar tracks and the impending impact as a giant machine heads towards your neighbour’s house, well that is exactly what happened to a property in the Green Valley Ranch area of Denver last year! 15844828_10209565506507751_7879201454232139126_o Apparently the operator had been using the 49 tonne Caterpillar D9T dozer on a building site across the road but had suffered some kind of medical issue which I suspect would have been a heart attack and lost control of the machine. The 464hp machine then headed across the road, through a fence and ploughed into the family home causing devastation to the property. A co-worker chased after the runaway machine and managed to climb on board to knock it out of forward drive but not before it had buried itself in the dwelling! 15965950_10209565506467750_8518499266295389455_n The operator did suffer some minor injuries, but fortunately nobody else was injured in the incident, the house on the other was condemned as unsafe after the event and had to be demolished and rebuilt. 15940650_10209565506427749_8856287734074670187_n A nightmare event for all concerned but it could have been so much worse with possible tragic consequences if the family had been in at the time.
