Fingers Crossed for a Return to Machinery Shows

The last significant event was Conexpo in Las Vegas, which took place just before the world went into a Covid-19 induced meltdown, which even saw the last day being cancelled, followed by a last-minute exodus back home for those of us who attended.

But now I am starting to see some glimmer of hope, the MANSEN MÖRINÄT event in Finland looks set to be going ahead over its regular two days of a Friday and Saturday from 16th to 17th April 2021.

This fantastic event, which I last attended back in 2017, takes place in the Tampere, Pirkkala and Lempäälä region of Finland and annually attracts more than 10,000 heavy machinery, transport equipment professionals and enthusiasts to Pirkanmaa.

Unlike shows as we know them in the UK, at this event the products are displayed at the dealers own premises at a variety of industrial estates, which are all within a short drive or in some cases a walk, it’s a brilliant way to do it, with no costs of transporting machines to one area for a show or expensive hiring of a show plot and all makes perfect economic sense to me.

It’s a show I really enjoy and hopefully I will be able to attend once more next year.

Also set to go ahead here the UK, is the Executive Hire Show which historically takes place in the February, but next year is planned to take place over two days from the 28th to 29th April, at its spiritual home of the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The big one in the UK next year will be Hillhead, which sadly fell victim to the Covid situation this year and should take place at the famous Hillhead Quarry in Buxton from 22nd to 24th June 2021.

We are all in the lap of the gods at the moment, but I for one am looking forward to the good times when the shows return again soon, which one is your favourite and will you be attending?
