Finnish firm paint’s it Black

Esbo based Pekka Harjanne Oy are an earthmoving, groundworks and transport company that operates in and around the Finnish capital city of Helsinki. The company own some stunning looking pieces of equipment which all sport the company’s black corporate paintwork colour scheme and some examples from their fleet were on display at a Scania dealership in Tampere which was hosting point as part of the Mansen Morinat show. The company run Liebherr wheeled excavators and two examples were on show at the event consisting of a 912 Compact and a 918 Compact, which of course being in a Scandinavian country were “all singing, all dancing” versions complete with TAB boom configuration, Rototilt tilt-rotators and GPS systems. On the smaller equipment front the company run Bobcat skid steer loaders of varying sizes like this S590 model that was on display on their heavy plant trailer. Also included in the fleet are mini excavators from Yanmar and at least six Scania tipper trucks all of which can be deployed to tow the plant trailers like this Scania R620 V8 model. It’s an unusual choice of paintwork but it really does stand out from the crowd and makes a refreshing change from the usual shades of yellow and orange paint that is so often the normal choice of livery. Check out this video as we join one of Pekka Harjanne's operators in the cab of his Liebherr 912 Compact.
If all goes to plan I hope to be presenting a full report on the Mansen Morinat show in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine next month.
