Get Hitched with a Totalock 2 at Plantworx

To celebrate the launch of its new Totalock 2 coupler Whites are offering a lucky winner the chance to own one of its latest models, complete with a full fitting kit, to suit a machine ranging from 2 to 9 tonnes, depending on the winners requirements. To be in with a chance to win the coupler, visitors will need to fill out a form and post it in the box from which a winner will be drawn at random after the show closes on the final day. Building on the success of the original Totalock, the new second generation coupler is available for machines from 1.5 tonnes up to 13 tonnes and all units come supplied with a 3 year warranty package. Whites Sales Manager Stuart Clark said, “The main focus behind the design is summed up in our Totalock 2 logo “Coupler Safety Made Simple”. The vision was to manufacture a coupler that was of a simple design, with fewer moving parts, fewer greaseable items and requiring very low maintenance which all adds up to less problems for the end user". This strong and durable variable centre twin locking coupler is manufactured from Abro steel of Brunel 400 tensile strength (similar to Hardox) and features removable ram guards and a rear spring guard. The unit’s main safety feature is that when the rear hook is locked in place hydraulically, it mechanically blocks the front hook from lifting. In the event of a complete hydraulic failure, the rear safety springs hold the rear jaw firmly shut to further prevent the bucket becoming detached. Additional features include a rated lifting eye on the back of the coupler as standard and a front jaw safety lip design, which aids correct detachment of the bucket or especially heavier attachments like hammers and selector grabs, in a safe and controlled manner, enabling the operator to place the work tool on the ground safely, rather than it dropping out of the jaws. This feature promotes safe quick coupler operating procedures which is very important on today’s busy construction sites.
