Hewden launches a Major Nationwide recruitment drive for Plant Operators.

Having invested over £51m in its core fleet for 2014, Hewden’s new scheme aims to employ 250 new and experienced plant operators from across the UK. Hewden has developed two dedicated Training Academies that will give operators CPCS qualifications, and all relevant Industry recognised tickets, in addition to the Hewden approved safety passport. The Academies offer vital product training and retraining for all levels of plant operators. Hewden wants to attract experienced operators to join the team alongside new recruits looking for an opportunity to develop their career in the plant hire industry.

The training academies and recruitment is the first step to deliver the Hewden Standard for Operated Plant Excellence”.

Experience counts at the end of the day and that experience can’t be gained overnight. It is however good to see that national plant hire companies are at last trying to address the problem, which can only be a good thing for the industry as a whole.
