Hymac Bogmaster uncovered

Jeremy discovered this rare “Bogmaster” version of Hymac’s hugely popular 580C model still working in a waste transfer station near Walsall, within minutes of junction 10 of the M6 motorway. These special models were built on a wider track frame, with a higher than usual turret and featured extra wide track shoes. The machines were widely used in soft ground conditions and I believe a number of them once worked on the Somerset Level peat farms. Talking about this latest find Jeremy said, “I do keep looking hard to find these old girls and it’s amazing just how many are still about if you know where to look for them”. Also of note in the background of this photo is an ageing Hyundai HL740-3 wheeled loading shovel. We thank Jeremy for sharing these shots with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
