It’s a scraper but not as we know it …

K-Tec’s 1243 unconventional ADT derived scraper model has been designed to be capable of self-loading a heaped capacity load of 43 cubic yards towed behind a 40 tonne articulated dumptruck unit from any one of a number of manufacturers, but in this case a Volvo A45G. According to the Canadian manufacturer this machine can be used in any type of soil condition and offers fast cycle times compared to conventional scrapers. Flotation tyres are used for maximum performance in the toughest of conditions. For those times when its preferred to use a dozer to push load, K-Tec have fitted a rolling push block for the dozer to butt up to which helps to prevent jarring to the machine and makes for an improved comfort experience for the operator. The machine was recently put to the test on a highway bypass job in Queensland, Australia where the Volvo power unit provided some excellent fuel efficiency using just 32 L/h over nine working hours.
