Join us on a tour of the Yanmar factories

Lee who trades as LB Plant Hire, Landscaping & Groundworks and other Yanmar owners and operators sing the brands praises on a regular basis and we never seem to go long without a post being put up about them. In many ways Yanmar is a name that has become synonymous with mini excavators and compact kit, with so many other manufacturers choosing their engines to power their offerings. I recently made a visit to see Lee and his fleet of Yanmar mini excavators which will be featured in my article in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine. I recall in 1985 I used to operate one of the original Yanmar Japanese built machines which we had on hire from Sunny Bank Sand Plant Hire and that was a cracking piece of kit. This patriotic looking number in the photo below was displayed on the Yanmar stand during Intermat in 2015, what will they be displaying at this year's event in Paris in April I wonder? It’s quite rare for me to get involved with Yanmar to be honest, apart from when we all catch up at the various plant & machinery shows, to chew the cud about their latest offerings and industry gossip. This got me thinking about looking for some interesting Yanmar material for the blog and I thought, what better place to start than a virtual video tour of the companies manufacturing facilities. As I understand it, most of the production for the European market takes place at two factories in France at Saint-Dizier and Bezannes and its these two facilities that feature in this video from Yanmar.
