Jovic Plant Hire goes Tier-4 with the first Yanmar ViO80-1A

Yanmar, developed its first 8t class zero tail swing excavator in 1997. Since then, the company has been continuously improving the range by upgrading models with some of the latest advanced technologies and innovations.  The ViO80-1A’s new Yanmar diesel engine with direct injection has an output of 42.2KW (57.3hp) and meets the Stage IIIB / Tier4 emission standards. It is equipped with an electronic control unit and a common rail system that achieves an excellent power/consumption/noise ratio by electronic control of fuel injection. This gives a 15% increase in performance and a 17% decrease in fuel consumption. Talking to the Digger Man Blog, Peter Goudie, Managing Director of Jovic Plant Ltd commented, “Engine emissions are becoming an increasingly important consideration for us when buying new equipment. We run a large fleet of Yanmar excavators and this is the first of the new generation of 8 ton machines.” Peter continues, “Since we have been running the Yanmar machines we have noticed substantial reduction in our spare parts bill. We are very happy with the support that we get from Ammann Equipment Ltd and we have a good working relationship.” The ViO80-1 is the latest upgrade in the Yanmar range, many of which were launched at Bauma in Munich earlier this year, with other models being the ViO17, ViO50, ViO57 zero tail swing machines and the recently launch of the SV26 compact 2.6 ton machine. The new Universal models come with 3 year warranty. The larger machines include refuelling pumps as well as a larger cab design. Jovic Plant also run the SV08-1AS, ViO17, ViO25, and ViO50 models as well as Ammann compaction plates and the AV12 (82cm) and AV26 (120cm) rollers. Commenting further on their latest acquisition Peter said, “Zero tail swing excavators are the way to go without a doubt, and this is another reason why we run the Yanmar machines. We aim to give our customers good quality, modern machines and for this reason we aim to keep our fleet as new as possible. This brings our Yanmar fleet to 40 machines in total.”
