Liebherr marks 60,000th excavator milestone

Liebherr-France SAS has been designing and building hydraulic excavators at its facility in Colmar, France, since 1961 and has just past this significant production milestone. The celebratory machine, which is an R 922 model, has received a stunning blue livery which refers to France. The artwork is by Jean Linnhoff an illustrator from Colmar, who worked in secret in a cordoned off part of the factory for 6 days. A map of the world on the side of the machine stands for the worldwide distribution of Liebherr excavator production. The know-how of the Colmar employees is acknowledged by all employees first names on the undercarriage. We expect this machine to feature on Liebherr’s mammoth stand at Bauma in Munich, when the event opens its doors in a few weeks’ time.
