Liebherr Rental upgrades fleet

Liebherr Rental has completed a £10 million, 45-machine upgrade and expansion of its UK fleet. Liebherr Rental provides long- and short-term self-drive hire solutions to customers from a range of sectors including construction, aggregates, waste and recycling, scrap and ports. The investment programme is in line with Liebherr Rental’s strategy of updating its fleet annually to ensure that no machine is more than 3 years old. This year’s investment will see the planned replacement of over 30 machines including materials handlers, loaders, excavators and dozers.

The fleet will be further expanded with the addition of 15 machines, some of which are completely new models to the fleet such as the 43-tonne PR 756 and 54-tonne PR 766 dozers. Recently launched, these Generation 8 machines both feature the latest Stage 5 engine technology. Customer demand for these larger dozers has been stimulated by a number of major infrastructure projects.

As with the dozers, the three new Generation 8 additions to the excavator fleet also all boast powerful and efficient Stage 5 engines. Ranging from 70 tonnes to 35 tonnes, the R966, R945 and R934 ensure a machine is available for all applications and working environments. Two new machine types have also been introduced into the fleet: Liebherr’s T 60-9 telehandler and the TA 230 articulated dump truck.
