Liebherr's new demolition excavator

Liebherr’s new R 940 Demolition is a successor to the R 944 C and joins the R 950 Demolition and the R 960 Demolition in the range. The R 940 features a Stage 5 emissions standard engine with 200kW, plus a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), SCR system and particulate filter, although it does not have EGR valve. This machine is also available in a Tier 4 Final version, as well as for less regulated markets with a corresponding engine.

The new R 940 Demolition has a maximum working height of 23m, and a maximum operating weight of 63,900kg. The backhoe bucket capacity ranges from 1.60 to 2.15 cubic metres. The machine also packs the manufacturer’s Demolition Control System, which shows the operator the position of the demolition tool, helping machine stability. There's a 30-degree tiltable cab too, as well as a hydraulically adjustable undercarriage with variable track gauge. A cab air filtration system provides a healthier work environment, while a spray system for reducing dust in the working area is available as an option. The machine can also be equipped with an air compressor for cleaning the radiator and cab.
