LiuGong’s new grader has style with attitude

The key elements of the design were to build on the success of the H-Series wheeled loaders which the British team, led by Gary Major, designed and to apply that DNA to the 4180D model motor grader, offering optimised visibility to the blade and all four corners of the machine. Up-front, the A-pillars have been aligned with the blade adjustment rams to minimise intrusion to the front wheels, the narrow steering column and deep screen gives excellent forward views and the central (single) C-pillar allows full view of the rear corners.  Also note how the exhaust and pre-cleaner are lined up in tandem behind that single post to maximise all-round vision. Talking about the new machine and its design features Gary Major said, “We've designed this to give you a visible arc through the whole machine from nose to tail, so many of these machines are designed in sections without thought for continuity of line, we've designed ours to be as cohesive as possible, I think we've absolutely nailed it for proportion and stance”. I have to agree, it’s certainly a stylish looking machine and I would like to thank Gary for sharing these photos with us on the Digger Man Blog.
