Luke Furse’s Hyundai treble

Luke Furse had been so impressed with his first two Hyundai R140-9 machines, that when it was time to trade in an outgoing Kobelco SK135SR, he had no hesitation in putting in another order with South West dealership Molsons. Luke Furse is very specific about how his machine are presented, and as with the previous two Hyundai’s he has purchased, this new model has come with a colour co-ordinated boom to match the Hyundai grey/green colouring on the counterweight. Luke Furse (left) is seen here receiving the keys for his latest addition from Molsons area sales manager Luke Mercer. During my site visits to Luke Furse Earthmoving, I also caught up with another of the first two Hyundai machines, which have now amassed over 1000 hours on the meter. This machine is operated by long serving Luke Furse man Dave Hockin, who has now completed 12 years of service with the Ashwater based company. At the time of my visit Dave was excavating for a water service across a farmer’s field in a glorious location. Asked for his thoughts on his latest mount, Dave said, “I’ve been pretty impressed with it to be honest, its smooth to operate, has plenty of power and cab is nicely laid out, with everything you really need, all in all it’s a great machine.” With the potential replacement of one of Luke Furse’s existing 20 ton machine’s looking very likely towards the end of this year, I am sure we will be reporting on another Hyundai addition to the fleet soon here on the Digger Man Blog.
