More Chinese oddities

China is without doubt, the largest construction site in the world. It’s appetite for building, properties, railways, roads, airports and the like is relentless. It will come as no surprise then, to find out that the country is becoming one of the largest markets in the world for construction equipment. The emergence of Chinese construction machinery manufacturers continues unabated too as the need to fill demand internally gathers pace. There are literally hundreds of manufacturers in China all juggling for a share of the market, not only nationally but internationally too. The brands we have seen in the UK market so far, although some of the biggest players in China, are just the tip of the iceberg. ShengGong is one of these brands that I had not heard of before and Gary reports that these small SG20 compact wheeled loader models from the company’s range, were to be seen everywhere as he travelled around the region he was staying in. Gary also tells us that you can drive into one of the many roadside dealerships where they sell these things and pick one up for as little as £2k! On a different note and not really a construction machine, Gary spotted this contraption that someone has put together as a general workhorse, something Gary described as a bastard lovechild of a rotavator and the Arkansas Chuggabug! We thank Gary for sharing these latest photos from his travels with us.
