More kit rusting in peace

The page in question is called “Down Under Rust” and as the name implies it feature old vehicles and machinery which is rusting away in the Australian sunshine. There are not that many earthmoving machines on there at the moment but I have selected three of the best to post in this blog. First up we have a very early example of a Caterpillar D10. The old girl which is bladeless appears to have suffered from some vandalism judging by the graffiti on her and is also being cannibalised for spare parts to keep other old machines going. 15540903_714961892006602_4176435590714775338_o In what appears to be the same location surrounded by trees we find what I believe could be an old Allis Chalmers motor grader rusting away. The machine looks in a reasonable condition and would be a prime candidate for a restoration job if someone had the time and money to throw at her! 15775001_722245337944924_7181045311653838275_o Finally in this batch we have an old dozer which I am not able to identify. Note the steering wheel set up which although I have seen examples of before still seems very strange indeed. Do any readers know what make and model this could be? dozer To round off this post here is a video I found featuring what I believe to be a collection of photos farmed from the internet, many of which first appeared on this blog, which depicts more rusting hulks from locations all around the world. Some like the Cat motor grader around the 6.33 mark don't look very abandoned to me but its still a good watch if like me you enjoy looking at older kit.
