Moving Mountains the SoCal way!
During the course of their work to prepare an area of land for a new business park development, SoCal Earthworks from Southern California, were literally required to move a whole mountain using their fleet of Caterpillar 651B single engine motor scrapers which were being push loaded downhill by Cat dozers. This style of loading seems to work well as the scrapers are loaded very quickly on the downhill stretch. This is another of those videos where you just have to sit back, turn up the volume and enjoy the sheer power of these ageing, but still very effective earthmoving machines. Enjoy!
