Mr Plant and Machinery acquire 43 Sunward machines
Based in Chatham, the company officially became a Sunward dealer on June first and immediately placed a substantial opening order. The package includes SWE 18UF, SWE 25UF and SWE 50UF mini excavators, the SWE 90UF compact excavator, and the SWTL 4538 skid steer loader.
The machines are expected to find work across a range of sectors, including construction, demolition, recycling, groundworks, utilities, agriculture, solar farms and plant hire.
Managing Director Lee Goodger said: “As a family-run business with a wealth of experience, knowledge and a reputation for great customer service I felt I was ready to take on the Sunward dealership for the South, so I took the opportunity to make some phone calls and got in front of the right people, and we worked together to make this happen.
“I am very happy to be a part of the Sunward brand and look forward to hopefully having many years at it. We have sold 10 machines to date and are waiting for more to turn up. We had 43 machines on order to start with!”
Goodger also highlighted the current pressures facing the plant hire industry.
“The challenges in plant hire at the moment are that the costs of purchasing plant are going up but hire rates are staying the same, if not going down. Sunward helps with reduced up-front costs, making them a better option for plant hire companies to be competitive yet achieve the same revenue.
“For example, Sunward’s 3.5-tonne excavator comes with air-conditioning and seven hydraulic lines as standard, and these add-ons would be subject to additional charges from other manufacturers. Relatively little factors like these make all the difference in this day and age.”
