Nitsas Group Pty Ltd Sets up Down Under

The Nitsas Group a family run demolition and excavation business was initially founded in Greece in 1983 by Loukas’s father. Some two years later he was joined by his brother and they took on another co-worker. This small but hard-working team put in a lot of effort enabling the company to grow steadily. More work meant more expansion and so extra kit and trucks were added to the fleet, including machines from JCB, Liebherr, Caterpillar, Bobcat, Case and a German Eder wheeled excavator. In 2013 Loukas’s father’s brother quit the business due to some family issues and the company scaled down slightly with the father running the business on his own with a few workers. It was around this time that Loukas started to think about moving to Australia, in particular to Melbourne, Loukas said, “I did my research and found that Melbourne is expanding and has a lot of opportunities for my industry, so in 2016 I moved here and quickly found work with a construction company. Now I have found two Chinese investors and have managed to start up my own business, Nitsas Group Pty Ltd”. Loukas has purchased his first machine for the Australian division following a lengthy consultation period which saw him evaluate a number of machines. He has opted to go for a new 14-tonne class Doosan DX140LCR compact radius hydraulic excavator which has been supplied with a full set of buckets and a ripper tooth attachment. Loukas who has 14 years of experience behind him will initially be available as an owner-operator, but being an ambitious young man, I would not be surprised to see some rapid expansion in the years to come.
