Police catch Caterpillar thief
New Year's Eve got off to a bad start for a 28-year old Southampton man, after he was arrested for attempting to steal a 28-tonne Caterpillar truck from the local dock whilst under the influence of alcohol. The 730 articulated haul truck was stopped by security staff as the operator tried to leave the dock just after 4:30am. Officers at the scene tweeted that the incident was a "potential first for this year's Christmas drink-drive campaign".
